Academy of Shenzhen Chamber Music

As an artistic extension of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of Shenzhen Chamber Music was established in 2024 and is the first professional chamber orchestra in Shenzhen. As an important new force in Shenzhen’s cultural field, the orchestra is based on professional standards and is committed to presenting diverse chamber music works and building a bridge for cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign music.
The core lineup of the orchestra consists of renowned musicians from both domestic and international: Wei Lu, concertmaster of the?Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester?Berlin; Qi Zhou, violinist of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and principal violinist of the Munich Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra; Zhenhong Jin, president of the Academy of Shenzhen Chamber Music and principal violist of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra; Jiapeng Nie, one of China’s most active cellists and professor at both Xinghai Conservatory of Music and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen); Karen Kocharyan, principal cellist of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and cellist of the Armenian Khachaturian Trio; and Liuyin Yang, principal violist of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.?The members combine international top-tier ensemble experience with professional music education backgrounds, forming a stable artistic structure.
With support from a professional operational system, the Academy of Shenzhen Chamber Music?will systematically present chamber music classics from the Baroque period to contemporary works through a series of concerts and music outreach activities. Relying on the resource platform of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, combined with local cultural characteristics and an international artistic vision, the orchestra is dedicated to creating a music brand with professional excellence and urban characteristics, presenting audiences with rigorous yet vibrant musical performances.
